- Interstate I -10 is one of the main routes for human traffickers. Two cities figure prominently as centers identified with a particularly high level of human trafficking: El Paso and Houston.
- The U.S. Department of Justice states that El Paso and Houston on the list of “most intense trafficking jurisdictions in the country.”
- One of every five human trafficking victims found enslaved in Texas.
- 234,000 victims of labor trafficking in Texas at any given time.
- 79,000 victims of youth and minor sex trafficking in Texas at any given time.
